I find his message very practical and simple and yet very profound.Jon made about complaining being like throwing up! thank you for the beyond high profile interview and I’m looking forward to the second part.

His comments match with what I teach in my leadership seminar “Closing the gap between performance and potential with the Leader/Owner Mindset.” It’s all about accountability and eliminating excuses. These books would be a great way to finish out my 2012 personal growth plan and possibly add new seeds to “Accountable Seedership Coaching”

Jon’s interview came about at the most opportune time for me – I have begun a quest to understand why people are where they are, and why I am where I am. His books would allow me to further understand these things, and I will pass them up the chain in my company, which has leadership that needs this information!

“Help someone find their bigger purpose”…
That’s EXACTLY what I’m trying to do now, for a whole church-full of people! I really identified with what Jon said about losing everything and then being able to identify my purpose, my passion. And I REALLY want to help others get there! (Maybe not the lose everything part) My pastor has asked my help in putting something together to do just that, for our church. I am more than ready, and eager, to eat up any material that will help me come up with the best way to go about this process. It would be awesome to get my hands on Jon’s books, and be able to utilize them–thanks for the extended interview Chris and Jon!! :)

I will be transitioning roles within my organization in the coming weeks. I will be moving into leadership of a team that has been led differently than I lead. Jon’s Energy Bus has been a great asset to me and my current team. As I move into this role, I would like the opportunity to explore Jon’s other works and the insights they would provide me and my new team.

I strive to continue to improve myself so I can help others improve and I think this set can add to that knowledge and help me help others.

  • Vernon Keszler

Great interview. I need the books to continue my education. Hints about each of the books makes me want to devour them all.

Awesome second interview. I want to participate in this opportunity. Why do I want a set of Jon’s books because of several reasons:

    1. The more I listened to the two interviews, the more I realized how much I need to learn how to be intentional about injecting, protecting and keeping culture in my company. I realized that I just don’t know how. I think the teaching in these books will help me figure this out. (Imagine- the interviews got my rice burning….what would some great books do!?)

    2. I’m working hard to build my business, and I believe that a big part of the equation to growth is what Jon is talking about – growing as an individual and treating your people well so they treat the customers well. I want to learn how to do this better.

    3. I want to share these ideas with my team of leaders. (I will anyway via the podcast) but the books will help out a lot!

Thanks for the great interviews. I’ve learned a lot. Again. :)

I truly believe that the power of the mind is an incredible thing. “It’s not about the economy. What are you doing to make yourself better?” If a person has small thoughts and is constantly thinking about what’s going wrong and about everything negative they are going to get those same results. Pursuing excellence requires big thoughts and realizing that there is always room for improvement. This is awesome. Thanks!

And I need the books because I need to get better!

  • Chris P

Please pick me, I currently have a new job with the Government
in an office atmosphere and I been struggling with the transition with my coworkers. After looking over the titles of the books it would be a great benefit to help me change my perception of the cubicle culture, and hopefully I can be the light with in my workplace. I love the resources provided on this site, but this interview has been especially helpful in my current work situation. Thank you for the constant blessings!

  • Bryan B.

I really need a set of these books to change my mentality and the culture of our business. Oftentimes, I find that I am the one blaming and judging others. I need to change my selfish mindset to not
complain (either uttered or thought), pursue excellence for the benefit of our installers/employees/community, fuel my life and others with positive energy, and develop purpose.

Thank you guys for the extended interview and for the EntreLeadership Podcast. EntreLeadership is a necessity and a fuel for growth and excitement no matter what field we work in.

Incredible interview as usual Chris. Love the illustrations of champions working like they are trying to make the team – and the idea that champions do everyday things better than anyone else. I definitely want to learn how I can be better. Thanks for the inspiration.

  • http://twitter.com/Coach_Different Matt Williams

Thanks for all you do, Chris. I have been impacted by Entreleadership significantly, and I look forward to continuing to learn from you all in the future.

I need Jon Gordon’s books because I just got hired as a Varsity Head Baseball coach for a small Christian school that is just starting a baseball program. This is an incredible opportunity to invest in the lives of high school baseball players, and it’s also an incredible opportunity to build a culture from the ground up. I want to help my players succeed on the field, but more importantly I want to invest in them as future leaders. Having a set of Jon Gordon’s books would provide me with invaluable resources that can help me as I begin to lead a new baseball team and create a culture from the ground up.

    Thanks!

    • Chris P

Congratulations on your opputunity! I played baseball as a kid and one of my coaches was the best example of a godly man. Thank you for your service!

  • http://www.janabotkin.net/ Jana Botkin

I need the book “The No Complaining Rule” so I can use it to bash a complainer over the head. Or, I could just put in some earplugs. What an apt comparison Jon made about complaining being like throwing up! Thanks for the great interview and I’m looking forward to the second part.

  • http://www.jmlalonde.com Joe Lalonde

I’ve enjoyed a book or two from Jon before. By getting a full set of his book, I’ll be able to pass on the ones I already have and improve my positive attitude by being encouraged by his work.

  • http://www.joshuarivers.net/ Joshua Rivers

This was awesome! (I think that is the word of the blog lately!)

I need a set of Jon’s books so I can learn to grow more personally and as a leader. I want to strive to serve people in this way. I want to be consistently loving tough. I want to work on helping others become better. As much as I would want these books for myself, I would be just as excited to see others get the books and become more successful.

  • http://www.lilykreitinger.com/ Lily Kreitinger

What an AWESOME interview Chris. Wow!!! I need to listen again because I couldn’t take notes fast enough!

My favorite is his message on starting with the little things to find your bigger purpose. I find his message very practical and simple and yet very profound.

Thanks again for helping us grow through the voice of great leaders.

  • kevinschumm

I would like a set of Jon’s books bc this was one of the best interviews (that pertains to me right now and what I am working on). He seems to have a handle on the culture which I am bravely trying to create. As well he discusses tough love, “love tough” and one of the answers I hope to get by reading is, When you love them and they don’t love you back what are you doing wrong? I also want to read more about, how if you don’t have a relationship then rules are worthless b/c I too find that true. How can you tell when you are pouring yourself and they are not pouring back? I think it would be a great foundation for my next hire and I to start creating the culture b/c lIke he say’s selling, and all else is worthless without the culture to cultivate all actions. I agree with Becky on: Culture drives behavior and behavior drives habits! EXCITED to see your next interview!

  • Christopher Teague

I’ve come to believe that leadership is not a question, it’s a given. In every situation, I will be called upon to be a leader, even if I’m only leading myself to greater things. The question is “How well will I lead?” I’m young, and inexperienced, but reading Jon’s books will help me answer “Very well!” to that question.

    • http://www.joshuarivers.net/ Joshua Rivers

That’s an awesome statement: “I will be called upon to be a leader, even if I’m only leading myself to greater things.”

      • Christopher Teague

        Thanks, I’m @cteague

    • http://www.joshuarivers.net/ Joshua Rivers

      Ok. Had to tweet that.

    • http://www.janabotkin.net/ Jana Botkin

Christopher, that’s helpful to me since I often seem to only be leading myself. Thanks!

  • Chris Whitehead

Jon Gordon is a great guy. I have read Energy Bus. I have the 10 rules hanging in my office.

  • http://www.tessahardiman.com/ Tessa

I need a set because they would make great Christmas presents for my husband…after I read them first of course!

Thanks for doing another giveaway Chris and Jon.
