Mark Sanborn Interview

A couple of weeks ago, I asked you, the ChrisLoCurto.com reader, to leave comments with your questions for Mark Sanborn to answer during the EntreLeadership Podcast. Well, he did.

If you can’t see the graphic, click here.

I was blown away with how many incredible questions you guys left. We weren’t able to get to them all. However, next Tuesday will be the extended interview just for you the ChrisLoCurto.com reader. In that episode, we continued answering your questions. Be sure to listen to both to see if I mentioned YOU.

  • Brandon

I enjoyed the podcast and was looking forward to the follow up to the interview here on Chris Locurto’s site. Does anyone know where it is or how I can get to it?

Chris – just listened to the Mark Sanborn EntreLeadership podcast this morning. Great interview. I love Mark’s openness about his own challenges and how he chooses to move forward with optimism.

Thanks Dan! I think that kind of openness touches so many people

Finally got a chance to listen to the Mark Sanborn interview – what a clear communicator he is! I plan to listen to it again, and also got his Encore Effect book on CD to listen to. Skropp was definitely the star of the CLo tribe – way to go! I plan to take notes on his answer to your question and send them to my underemployed nephew. Thanks for keeping me anonymous with my goofy question about what an idea studio looks like. . . I really still want to know if all their desks are in a circle, like we did in junior high in the ’70s for more “creative thinking”. . . I might be a teensy bit scarred from that.

Jana, I’m honored you’d say I was the star…I’m not sure WHY you’d say the star, but thanks :) . He spent the least amount of time on my question! Although it was an AWESOME answer. I took noted on it too!Glad to see you back commenting :)

ChrisLoCurto and @MarkSanborn, thank you for the great interview! LOVED what you said that need for international focus/focused intensity for long periods of time is a key to success. Hope was also awesome. I think that is what is so great about your forum Chris, as well as Dave Ramsey’s and Dan Miller’s – so many good people to connect with that want to share that message of hope with others. It is very powerful to have heard Mark talk about this – it is a cool thing to get to be a part of!Thanks too for answering my question, it was an honor. Carol, Mark, and Aaron shouts out from me as well. What a hoot of a afternoon on Twitter! It was like a  Chris LoCurto fiesta party! What a hoot!

Wow – that was awesome – and I feel privileged to have my question mentioned – shout outs to Mark, Aaron and Jen too! There was so much burnt rice in there I don’t know where to start – loved the quote about hope, and FIDO and credit/blame – I think my favorite though was “change what you can and accept what you can’t” – I think there are probably more things I can change than I realize if I just paid closer attention. Great interview Chris!! Can’t wait for the rest!

    • http://hardandsimple.blogspot.com/ Skropp

Carol, your question was awesome!! And you’re absolutely right, that was an unbelievable podcast!! I dont wanna overlook Dave’s teaching either!! Some awesome nuggets in that!

      • http://lcdublin-myprivateuniverse.blogspot.com/ CarolDublin

Skropp Yes – I love the Momentum Theory and that story he told.

        • http://hardandsimple.blogspot.com/ Skropp

Definitely! Great illustration of it! I totally expected the Chris’ to refer to Becky as “The Matron of Momentum”… But alas, it wasn’t to be! Haha

        • http://lcdublin-myprivateuniverse.blogspot.com/ CarolDublin

Skropp That was a missed opportunity for sure!

  • http://www.indueseason.net skottydog

I think that was my favorite podcast yet.  I really related to a lot of things Mark mentioned, particularly the cancer “setback”.  He never mentioned what kind of cancer it was, but maybe he mentioned it in one of his books?  Mad shout out to Carol, Aaron and Mark with some great questions getting airtime!  I love the discussion that  ”…hopelessness comes from running out of ideas,or running out of energy required to carry them out”.

    • http://hardandsimple.blogspot.com/ Skropp

His outlook was soo admirable!! Loved it. Wish I had more of that outlook!

Wow. What a great interview.”You only get full credit when you take full blame.” One of the best leadership quotes I have heard in a long time.

    • http://hardandsimple.blogspot.com/ Skropp

I havent been on twitter much today, I suspect you probably tweeted that?

      • https://twitter.com/mattmcwilliams2 MattMcWilliams2

        Skropp You know me :)

  • JoshuaWRivers

I always love these podcasts! I love the Momentum Theory. I took a picture of the formula form the book and had it as my background on my phone for a few weeks (I may go back to that again, too). It gives me a reminder every time I look at my phone. That was a great interview, too. Can’t wait until the bonus interview comes! It’s great that he mentioned having to take responsibility, sometimes when it’s not even your fault. It demonstrates personal accountability and opens it up for growth and improvement.

    • http://hardandsimple.blogspot.com/ Skropp

Matt, I just wanna public apologize for sabotaging the blog… I didnt want anyone to be able to comment until I had had the opportunity to listen to the podcast ;) haha

      • https://twitter.com/mattmcwilliams2 MattMcWilliams2

Skropp Forgiven. Thanks for owning up Mark. LOL

        • http://hardandsimple.blogspot.com/ Skropp

Thank YOU for being enough of a friend to not let me slide and calling me out on it!

  • http://hardandsimple.blogspot.com/ Skropp

Awww you’re making us wait a WHOLE WEEK to hear the “BAH” ??? That’s just not cricket! (not exactly sure what that phrase means, but I hear it on movies!!). Haha. Lookin forward to listening to the podcast here in a bit!

    • http://hardandsimple.blogspot.com/ Skropp

      Yay!! It’s working again!!

    • http://hardandsimple.blogspot.com/ Skropp

Ok, do in the interim of the comments not working, I listened to the ‘cast. THAT was 49 minutes of seriously burnt rice!!! Man, so much great info and insight. I loved his attitude of just taking what comes and dealing with it! The surfing analogy is so great! And of course, Mefford’s comment “Just ask her” was priceless! Thanks Chris for another rockin’ interview!!

      • JoshuaWRivers

Skropp I was on the treadmill while listening to it, so I plan to listen to it again and get some seconds of that burnt rice!

        • http://hardandsimple.blogspot.com/ Skropp

          There are certainly seconds!!

    • https://twitter.com/mattmcwilliams2 MattMcWilliams2

Skropp Yeah the waiting a week thing is just cruel ChrisLoCurto
