Thanks for sharing this, Chris. I know that I can’t financially jump on these opportunities, but I know it is time (way past time, to be honest) to really focus and take action in my life.
One of my issues is trying to fly solo too many times and for too long. I’ve gotten in touch with a couple people lately that have help to motivate me, and I’m hoping to develop at least one of those into a more structured mentor/mastermind like relationship.
Like many here, I’ve been loving your content for years (coming up on 3 years soon – wow!), and I know that when I do take action that things start to happen. When I ease up, things slow down. Why do I stay in this cycle? Fear is probably the biggest reason: fear of failure, fear of the unknown. Another big reason is lack of focus. I get myself distracted with so many ideas that I take my focus off of what I’m working on. Then I don’t get much accomplished, even though I stay too busy.
One thing that I am contemplating is about my business. I had someone mention to me recently that his observation is that I do better when I’m working with someone – on a team. This was a comment directed at podcasting, but it applies to my life as a whole. With my business, I’ve been working on trying to build a solo-operation. I am a high-C, so (reflectively) going solo is probably not the best choice. My default is to move slowly and focus on tasks, while there is a need to get moving and focus on people/relationships to grow the business. When I do shift my focus in that direction, I do the pendulum swing too far and don’t maintain the needed balance. This said, I’m thinking that I need to look more into how I can work with someone or a group so that we can each leverage our best talents. Over the next couple months, I plan on trying to wrap up loose ends (or cut them off) and really focus come January.
Wow, this went longer than I planned, but thanks for all the great things you have provided over the years. And it’s been great to hear you more with the additional podcast episodes
It’s difficult for a high C to go solo and accomplish a lot, just like it is for any personality style if they don’t have their weaknesses covered. A high D can shake a ton up and make things happen, but the lack of detail can be the very thing that sinks them.
Surround yourself with those strong where you are weak and you have a much greater chance at success brother.
TERRIFIC! Glad to see these packages. I hope I will be able to join one day soon. I’m still plugging away on that debt free plan! We’ve paid off about $20k within the past year and a half. Still got work to do thanks to a couple poor decisions years ago and some school loans. But progress is good! Thanks again for all you do Chris, even for those of us that aren’t in a position to be true clients yet.
Keep knocking it down, brother!!!
Dude, the very determination that you have to get out of debt, will get you into greater opportunities! I love it!!
Thanks Joel and Chris! Chris you might possibly know this, but you got an amazing man when you brought Joel in full time! Ok, so I know you knew that long before. But seriously Joel has been a big influence on me as well. He’s even accepted my call a time or two when I told him ahead of time I needed to vent! Its great to have people in life that are honest and truly want to help you get better. I know that with the two of you working side by side now we are going to see transformation in leadership that will sweep the world. Y’all keep it up, so we can keep it up!
James, I don’t what to say to this but thanks. I cherish our growing friendship, brother!!!
Who’s this Joel guy you speak of?! You are absolutely correct James, Joel is a God send!!
