Core Leadership vs. Adaptive Leadership
Great leaders execute what is essential today and adapt to new opportunities in the future which means they have no problem shooting the sacred cows. Adaptive leaders have a high level of emotional intelligence, and they understand how to communicate. They are constantly evolving and work to not only develop themselves but their entire team.
Core leaders put a process in place and go forward. When they find a strategy that worked once, they tend to do the same thing over and over again expecting growth. “It worked well for us five years ago…” “That’s how we’ve always done it.” More often than not, this kind of thinking eventually leads to decline.
Are you stuck in a core leadership rut?
Take time to find out what your greatest opportunities and risks are. What’s the most important thing you can do right now? How do you move forward and execute new ideas without moving away from what is working in your business?
At our StratPlan events, we spend time gaining perspective on your businesses as well as developing adaptive leadership skills for the future.
We’ve been able to identify millions of dollars of potential earnings in each company that’s come through by breaking the cycle of “this is how we’ve done it” while creating a plan to go after new opportunities. If you’re interested in learning more about StratPlan, GO HERE.

never know until you try….
Shooting sacred cows in business is vital! It doesn’t matter if “we have always done it this way” if it doesn’t make sense now, then change!
I’ve been with Chris during these strategic planning events and he’s so good at guiding people to actually see if something doesn’t make sense today. In other words, some times we need help to gain perspective and understanding, believe it and then develop the plan to change it.
I have observed that a practice, or aspect of a business can become “a sacred cow” slowly over time. If you don’t take a step back and get some perspective occasionally, you may hear some moo’s coming from your business!
Absolutely
Shooting the sacred cow in ministry is REALLY hard because many are worshipping the COW!
