It has been a roller coaster ride! We had the fabulous news on Monday that the MRI showed a really good recovery in the future, only to hear that she might not make it through the night last night. With the good MRI news, we went ahead with putting in the trach and feeding tube. (These were a must for her to survive.) As they were putting in the feeding tube, they clipped a blood vessel. This is understandable, it’s not that hard to do. the problem is that she was on so many blood thinners that she bled like crazy into her stomach. She lost a lot of blood and her stomach swelled up a ton. With that, her blood pressure dropped incredibly, and her heart rate was 37.
They immediately jumped stopped all thinners and jumped on the bleeders. They worked to clot the blood at the source, and it worked. However, between the stomach and her skin filled up with air greatly, causing more pressure on the organs. They had to then vent that as well. The problem now is the amount of time her liver and kidneys went with low to no blood pressure. It appears that her brain is still in the recovery process, but now we are waiting to see how the other organs respond. We are now waiting 24 to 48 hours to see what happens.
Once again, we can’t thank you all enough for your prayers!! They have truly been felt. Please Also lift up a great man, Tim Ranson, who had a stroke and is recovering himself right now. Please pray for a complete recovery! Thank you!!!
