Many of you may remember when this actually happened. As I played it, and started crying like a baby, I remember how much this event touched my life. Today, it does it again. Be prepared shed a tear or two.

What an amazing testimony to the human spirit. After a long weekend of racing, and having many opportunities to give up, (which I may share with you) I am inspired! I hope you are as well.
Thank you for sharing this. Just thinking….the drive to go on no matter what must come from inside us. But what a blessing it is to have someone come along side you when you’re running with a limp…whatever your race might be.
Even though you might need someone to come along side, what would happen if you looked for someone with a limp, and came along side them first? Hmmm.
Great perspective Aaron!! Don’t wait, look!
Wow! What a moment! How many times do we feel that defeated and the right person or situation comes along to provide support! Or we become that support for someone else. I would like to live my life knowing that I can trust Our Father to hold me up and help me cross the finish line. Thanks for the post and congrats on your second-place finishes! Happy Monday!
How many times do I look down and realize that God has been carrying me the whole time? We have an amazing Father!!
And thank you Lily!!
Yep, I have seen that many times but it is always good to remember that we should never give up, whether it is one our goals we are trying to reach or just striving to be a better example to those around us. Thank you of the reminder this morning. What a great way to begin the work week.
My pleasure Trisha!!
Great video! Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely!!
This reminds me of the end of the move CARS! Lightning McQueen stops 1 foot from the finish line to help the other car across the line. (probably how Chris finished 2nd this weekend!)
Never give up and winning isn’t the only thing!
HAHAHA!!! Yeah, that’s exactly what happened. 😉
I thought I was the only one that was thinking of “Cars”. I guess it’s from having a 4 year old and 2 year old. Everything reminds me of a Disney movie!
I went out on a limb and hoped someone else would join me! The joys of a 4 year old!
Ringing in my ears, from the steps of the Alamo, Dave Ramsey “Don’t give up. Don’t give up. Don’t give up……” One of the most powerful presentations I have experienced.
Amen brother!!
I think I remember when that actually happened. I was a little kid at the time, so it’s a little fuzzy. The thing is, that was probably a more dramatic and poignant ending to a career than winning a gold medal. We probably wouldn’t be talking about him now if he had won gold.
Isn’t that the truth!! We wouldn’t be discussing him.
Oh, and I was a little kid at the time too. 😉
True point Loren!
Thanks for another powerful message, Chris. I’ve never seen determination like this since Mary Lou Retton did her Triple Lindy with a broken ankle and won the gold in the 1984 olympics. (It was 1984, right? Not so sure about the “Triple Lindy”. That may have been a Rodney Dangerfield move in ‘Back To School’!)
I’m staying with relatives in North Carolina right now, and trying to fight tears at their kitchen table, thanks to this video. I can blame the pollen count, thankfully!
BTW, did you REALLY finish 2nd this weekend? That’s crazy!
Congrats! Hopefully all four wheels stayed on the ground this time! (sorry! Too soon?)
BAH!!!! Not too soon!! I did have two 2nd place finishes. It was awesome!!!
haha…yeah, that’s what it was for me as well…pollen.
I think pollen season has arrived a little early this year:):)..and seems everywhere.
Chris! A perfect way to start the week. Thanks for the video this morning. The urge and temptation to give up is always there. We need such kind of tonic at regular intervals to re-fuel and re-charge ourselves.
It’s amazing how watching something like this can fire us up to do the already amazing thing that we do. 🙂
Heart breaking and yet one of the most powerful examples of not giving up when all seems lost…..I can’t help tearing up!
Yeah, the moment he gets up and starts hopping, it’s over for me.
This reminds me how going through some of the worst times can bring about the best memories, opportunities for growth…..and always brings us closer to our “father”. Thank you for the encouragement!!
My pleasure!
Next time you could warn us to just watch it with the sound muted. Then, I wouldn’t suddenly be attacked by high pollen! (Music always does me in.)
BAH!!!!
Chris! I literally cried. Thanks for sharing the video. It really touched my heart. And, I am sharing this video with my team.
I enjoyed this video yet again Chris. The first time I watched it, his injury and determination was what stood out to me. Today, it was his fathers determination to be there right beside him. We all face things everyday and yet it is in these little decisions not to give up that we can persevere and become strong(er). We all need to remind ourselves not to give up, why we don’t give up and what comes from not giving up! Thank You for your continued support and encouragement to us to continue on this courageous journey!
My pleasure Misty!!
