Take A Few Minutes To Be Inspired

When I received this video from Troy Kent, I had to share it with you. Trust me when I say it’s worth the four and a half minutes of your day!

If that doesn’t get you fired up for something, I don’t know what will. You ARE powerful! More than you can imagine! Don’t let it sit unused. If you do, you hurt yourself and those who would have been inspired by you.

Question: What did this inspire you to accomplish?

  1. That is awesome Chris! It reminds me of the saying “it’s not how you mess up but how you recover that counts” or coach Mark Richt of UGA “we have to finish the drill” and of course ” I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” Phil 4:13

  2. When I watched this video, I am reminded of certain timeless truths —

    Nelson Mandela wrote “The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.”

    Winston Churchill yelled “Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.”

    Finally, I am also reminded of Walter D. Wintle’s poem:

    If you think you are beaten, you are;
    If you think you dare not, you don’t!
    If you’d like to win, but think you can’t,
    It’s almost a cinch that you won’t.

    If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost
    For out in the world we find
    Success begins with a fellow’s will;
    It’s all in the state of mind!

    If you think you’re outclassed, you are;
    You’ve got to think high to rise.
    You’ve got to be sure of yourself
    Before you can win the prize.

    Life’s battles don’t always go
    To the strongest or fastest man;
    But sooner or later the man who wins
    Is the man who thinks he can!

    Thanks for sharing this video Chris. That was awesome and mind blowing.

  3. We head to Haiti tomorrow for a week. It is the unknown that scares me. This video inspired me to focus on the power within us: the One who never leaves us; the One who was, is and is to come; He has the unknown under control!

  4. These are the folks I want coming to my rescue in times of dire distress – I hope they are all EMTs and soldiers.

    I am pondering the part about “our confidence gives others permission to be confident” (or however that was stated). Lots of petty people out there waiting to slap down those who have success. That causes the successful to question themselves, their motives, their humility.

    I want to hold to that truth when I am tempted to hold back.

    1. I so relate to your statement that this causes us to question ourselves, our motives and our humility…if only we can focus on not having that fear!

  5. Great video! I’m feeling inspired to keep writing. Someday there may be a book by Jon Stolpe, because I persevered and kept going.

    I love the race analogy in this video as well. After completing my 3rd marathon this fall, the Tough Mudder races seem like an interesting challenge as well.

  6. I’ve seen similar videos…. Every time I am inspired.
    I love overcoming physical obstacles because it reminds me that I can overcome obstacles in other areas of my life. In fact, my last blog post was about that.
    Videos like this remind me that every time in my life God has asked me to do something, it’s been against common sense, comfort, and most people don’t understand. These videos inspire me to keep pushing forward (and many times it feels like I’m pushing through sludge).
    I keep pushing. No matter what.

  7. I wish I could say that I didn’t have fear. I wish I could say that I didn’t feel inadequate. I wish I could say that I wasn’t discouraged and challenged on many fronts. I wish I could say that I felt powerful. I wish I could say I felt great. However I know there is One who is that power and greatness and when I let Him plan my life, take control and reign…I have power and greatness. It is a choice to not let it kick you to your knees and keep moving forward. I want to be a winner!

  8. Ok – just took the time to watch. And now I can’t work because tears are streaming down my face. So….Now I will send to my team and tell them it is MANDATORY for them to watch! Thanks for sharing!
