WHY ARE PEOPLE SO CRUEL?!?!

I so had to share this! Lizzie was voted The Ugliest Woman on Youtube. This video is her response to that. I know my readers will be proud of Lizzie. I don’t know if she’ll ever see this, but in the comments, let her know how proud of her you are.

Question: How proud of Lizzie are you for taking the stand that she has?

  1. Wow. First off, I echo your question, how can people be so mean?? Unbelievable!!
But on the same token, what an amazing gift she’s been given of a fighting and determined attitude and a positive attitude!!
There is soo much we could all learn from this amazing woman! I would venture a guess that her parents are pretty amazing people as well!
It also reminded me of a podcast I listened to a few days ago, about another person that had Carpenters Disease and was likewise teased. It’s about an hour long, but you guys may enjoy it…

@Skropp  There’s also this video on YouTube about a mom facing rejection and criticism about her baby

WOW! What a story!  We’re so hung up with little problems that we can’t imagine what it is like to live in someone else’s shoes.  Lizzie, we’re PROUD of you and I think many young people should hear your message.  You are an inspiration to anyone who wants to reach their goal and live their dream.

    1. @Lily Kreitinger I think it’s so awesome that she chose to do motivational speaking… What a great way to give hope to people who are tease or outcasts!

Wow, that is inspirational! So many lessons to be learned from Lizzie now + as she continues to embrace + excel in her life journey. God made her special + in His image, just like everyone else! Keep it up, Lizzie – you rock!

  4. This tore me up. People are cruel, and I attribute this cruelty to the affects of sin: ” We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags” (Is. 64:6). But at least Lizzie has, in so many respects, been able to not “let evil conquer [her], but conquer[ed] evil by doing good” (Rom. 12:21). Lizzie couldn’t control the health circumstances that she had been born with, and she couldn’t control the insensitivity of those who chose to hurt her; but she was able to take charge and make the most of the things that were within her control. And did she ever…way to go Lizzie!

Pretty amazing video and it certainly takes an individual to respond the way she did. A long time ago, ‘beauty’ was associated with being in one’s time. Basically, a ripe apple was beautiful because it was ripe … not because it was proportionally correct. Older women were considered beautiful, while younger women who tried to look old (or older women trying to look young) were not. Being out of place with who you are, trying to be something you’re not when you’re not … that is ugliness. Right now, Lizzie seems to be exactly where she was suppose to be at this time. So that is awesome.

Pretty amazing video and it certainly takes an individual of great character to respond the way she did. A long time ago, ‘beauty’ was associated with being in one’s time. 1. @andytraub I’m definitely gonna need to remover that next time someone attacks my dreams…I usually revert to the “argue and fight” tactic. Haha

    2.  @andytraub that was what spoke to me also.  She put all of her energies into accomplishing something great.  And she was DETERMINED to reach her goals.  Incredible, Lizzie!

  7. Thanks for sharing! Really made me want to show this to my girls as they as in school and are just now getting introduced to the cruel people in school.  I pray they always have a compassionate heart and never become the ones making fun of others.  Words can be so painful. Lizzie, you are truely an inspiration!

  8. AMAZING!!!!!!! That video gave me goosepimples 🙂 Lizzie is truly an inspiration.
So many people are cruel because of selfishness andor they have to put others down to feel better about themselves. May her message be a wake up call!

  9. Lizzie – You are an incredibly brave person.  Thank you for sharing your story with the world.

  10. Wow! That was awesome! I love that! I have to give her much respect for standing up and doing what she did.

  11. Lizzie, you are a wonderful example of inner beauty. It took tremendous strength, wisdom and foresight to beat that stupid Youtube junk – congratulations!!

P.S. – Never read comments on Youtube. NEVER.

    1.  @cabinart unless the first few comments say “thanks jerk, this was 4 minutes I’ll never get back” .  Usually an indicator that the video is not actually what is listed!
      :^}

  12. Fantastic Lizzie.  You are awesome.  Thank you for not listening to the outside negative but letting your determination drive you to win.

  13. I have not heard anything about this until just now.  What a way to overcome adversity.

Also reminds us that we are saps when we think we have problems that are too great to overcome.  The best part was that this was all accomplished without sinking to everyone else’s level.

    Awesome video!

    1.  @skottydog It’s always humbling to consider the shoes some other people get to wear, and how they decide to overcome, isn’t it. Feeling that right now.

    2.  @skottydog Isn’t that the truth?!?  Most people would get “revenge” by striking back (or trying to strike back) at the people who committed the offense.  She takes a totally different route – and wins.  so awesome!

  14. Thanks for posting this, what an awful world we live in.  People sit behind computers and say things that they should never say.  It is a sad, sad statement of our culture.  I try to live by the rule that “If I wouldn’t say that to the person’s face, I will not post it.”  Wish people would try to think before they commented.  UGH!

  15. Made me want to stand and be quiet, and just think: THAT. IS. COURAGE. And another word that came to mind: Courage. And another word: Courage. Lizzie, I hope I walk with that kind of strength. God takes the weak things of this world to shame the strong.

  16. Lizzie, you are a rock star! I truly believe as it says in Jeremiah 29:11 ” I have plans to prosper you and not harm you says the Lord” Lizzie the Lord is shining on you and when he sees your picture He has a smile 10 miles wide. God Bless and chrislocurto thanks for posting this

  17. I, as a recipient of similar humiliation, have nothing but respect, and admiration to anyone who takes the attack and turns it into fuel to keep fighting! You win Lizzie, You Win!

  18. Lizzie – what can I say – this is determination as I have rarely seen.  What a beautiful person you truly are – and I know your story will (and maybe already has) motivate millions of people to rise above their circumstances and soar with the eagles.

  19.
The video in the above post is very amazing. This is bad to try to become something which you are not . I think Lizzie is a great example of internal beauty and she did the right .

  20. Seo Manipulator

Lizzie you Rock.  It is hard to overcome labels and I think you Won as well, keep up the good fight!

  21. go lizzie go !theres no stopping you now! I am also a bullied person and you are a light in the darkness, thank you, you’re a beautiful strong person. I think you’re awsome

  22. Thank you Lizzie for being such a leader! I was feeling so down due to bullying that came my direction – and I did on search for “why are people so mean.” And I came across this post. You pulled me out of my sorrow and gave me energy to be positive. You are wonderful, and a beautiful person inside and out! Thank you!

  23. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think
you are beautiful. You have courage ,strength
and integrity. That is a combination that gets harder and harder to find anymore. Congratulations on your accomplishments. Keep going forward! You are not ugly at all..just different. You have a beautiful smile and your face has an openness about it that would welcome good people. Who needs horrible , truly ugly (rotten on the inside) people in their life?? Whoever thought you were the ugliest woman in the world obviously hasn’t seen what they look like to the world! Now THEY are truly UGLY. You….are not! Thank you for your video, it is an inspiration.
