498 | Lies Villains Tell Themselves

In the story of your life, have you ever thought of yourself as a “villain”? Few people do.

A lot of the time, we see ourselves through rose-colored glasses that paint a flowery picture. But that image isn’t always true.

You’ll always be the protagonist of your own story, but you can get stuck in a rotten role!

Playing the wrong characters, like “the victim” and “the villain”, can end up costing us (and others) a great deal. It can cause us plenty of pain as well.

Think about it. You probably have less peace, less joy, and less “happy moments” in life when you’re on the defensive or seeking to get even with others. I’ll bet that the people close to you, those you love, don’t benefit much either.

Without examining our lives, thoughts, and actions, our tendency is to get stuck in harmful and distorted thinking patterns. To get us out of these ruts, we’ve got to acknowledge the truth about what’s really happening.

Realizing the truth about ourselves is the first step towards changing our thinking and behaving

Here’s the deal. You’ve got to play a better role, if you want a better story.

On today’s episode, we’ll finish our series on the roles that we play, how to identify when we’re playing the “wrong character”, and how to change our story for the better.

Don’t miss this exciting conclusion!
