47 | Seeking God First

Today we are talking about seeking God. Seeking God first.

This topic came up during one of our team devotions. The theme of our devo was Matthew 6:33: “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

What does this mean? How does it apply to you?

That’s the topic of todays show.

In this episode we discuss:

  • Team Devotionals
  • Matthew 6:33
  • Chris is old
  • Do the diligent really prosper?
  • What is worship?
  • “You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help enough other people get what they want.” – Zig Ziglar
  • You have to set aside time to spend with God
  • God doesn’t want fancy words…He wants your heart.
  • The more you seek God, the more your desires become His desires.

So… Who’s all in? Leave your comment and let’s do this together.

  1. This reminds me of one of my favorite quotes: “Action expresses priorities ” – Ghandi

Love this message Chris, thank you!

  2. So refreshing Chris! …right after an incredible “God” moment kind of morning. Sunrise over the lake, 5 little fawns and their mommas in the yard, a nice 10 point down below by the woods..such an “Eden” kind of moment. yes, God’s won me, and I’m all in!

Pray with your wife for your children in front of your children, also pray to be better parents For children in front of your children, it will change their lives! Love the podcast! I’m all in!

  4. I am totally in! Thank you for this message Chris. You know, I have always grown up around seeking God as being the core of who I am – and yet, what scares the snot outta me is how stinking easy it is to allow ‘the things of this world, and all it’s worries’ to crowd out time with God.

I will block off time with God each day. Starting now! Thanks for the awesome reminder.

    1. So true Aaron. Look at Ben’s post, it’s amazing how we fill up our time with as you say the things of this world, as opposed to His own creation.

  5. I. am.all. in. I have spent all my life trying to find God (in the wrong places and people, btw) and the truth is he has spent my whole life seeking me.

  6. Hey Chris I am all in!! – Jesus calls us to deny our self and take up our cross daily then Paul call us to be a living sacrifice. – At first glance that sound really miserable. But when we lay down our agenda and dreams we find that His are so much better.

    all in.

Psa 37:4 Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Psa 37:5 Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act.
Psa 37:6 He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.

  8. I’m all in. This podcast was excellent. Chris, the way you spoke about God as a person was so touching. I call it “God is my ATM” syndrome. We think that if we punch in the spiritual combination of prayer, Bible reading, and holyish living that God should spit out the blessings we’re looking for. But He isn’t a machine at all. He’s looking for our hearts and for us to be His people. You said it so well. Thank you!

    1. HAHAHA…it’s so true and so many times we don’t even realize it! Thanks for the great compliments Eric!

  9. I am all in. I listened last week but I have had multiple moments where this has been applied in the past two days. Hopefully, this will become the habit I intend & I change the world from the inside out.

  10. All in. Thanks for the shot in the arm. I need to include God in my plans.I forget (maybe I am just scared) to pray. I want to build an online business and need to include God in this.

  11. Chris – ALL IN! This post in my opinion ranks #1! Thanks for the sobering reminder as I am seeking Him for some very specific things at the moment and it all boils down to this…RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM
May God smear FAVOR on you all over!

  12. Chris, I told you after the first time I listened to this podcast that I was All In! I just wanted to stop in and tell you I’ve listened to this about 3 or 4 times now. Each time I get more insight. While I love your leadership and business posts, this one is by far my favorite. Thank you for being honest and true to God, yourself and those of us who are learning from you. I truly appreciate your heart and passion for what you do.

  13. I M ALL IN!! Chris thank you so much for this great and important reminder, I’ve done this before and the results were amazing, but then for some reason I stoped doing it again, as if I was to busy, when I really couldnt afford not to. Thanks again
