Well Garth Brooks presented the Entertainer of the Year Award last night at the CMA Awards. Wow!
Great seeing him out there!
I’m a huge fan of Garth Brooks. When it comes to connecting with his fans…he’s one of the best in the biz. This guy has an incredible marketing mind and it showed when I got the chance to see him in Vegas…twice. (I said I was a big fan)
It was such an incredible experience – Trisha Yearwood even took my camera to snap a pic of Garth and me. #epic

So… Let’s get this rodeo started! Couldn’t help myself 🙂
This one hit right on the money! Based on my marketing coaching session with Joel a few months ago and some other research and learning we are doing a big restructure of our marketing. I’m working with an awesome team here in Fredericksburg, Story Collaborative. When we first met I told them I want to tell our story. I want people to learn why we do what we do and how we do it best. We are just getting started but already it has been amazing to brainstorm and get ideas out of my head and onto the whiteboard. I was talking with one of the group leaders from our Open Coffee group and she has asked that I keep my journal for the project and put together a presentation after we do our roll out! This is so exciting, its like rebirthing our 35 year old business. I can’t wait to roll everything out as I know it’s going to lead to some amazing presence in the community.
Bam!! Spot on brother!
Go get ’em James!!!!
That’s awesome James, I’d love to catch back up with you and hear more about what you are doing!
I love this quote from former NFL player, now actor and coach Bo Eason. “Your story is the connective tissue between you and your clients”. If you are trying to serve your clients the best you can, you have to share your story. That’s when marketing becomes personal, and not an empty, pushy message. You’ve been there, done that, have the T-shirt and can order T-shirts for them in their size and favorite color 🙂 Our clients keep coming for more because we enter their brain and become embedded in their organization. We are not a vendor, or a supplier, we are a partner in their business.
Powerful Lily!!! Love it!!!
Dudes! Loved this episode and the insight even as you enjoyed an incredible experience. It was powerful to see you connect the dots.
I’m shameless when it comes to loving you 😉
Boom! Nice, Matt.
BAH!!!! That was awesome!!
Chris — you set the scene of the concert so clear — small audience, spotlight on guitar, forgetting the words to the song — all elements of inclusion of his audience. I am saving this episode because it will always remind me that successful businesses don’t have to be flashy — they have to be real — glad you are back to podcasting!
Chris, you have such a great hero. I learned how to two-step to Garth! I saw this article and wanted to share it with you.
